Using Lightboards to Provide an Effective and Engaging Virtual Learning and Training Experience

Ways of learning and absorbing information is ever changing, and virtual classrooms and online learning are in demand for an increasingly globally dispersed and on the go workforce. But self-paced learning has taken a lot of the engagement and instructor time out of learning which, in turn, decreases retention and student approval. The Lightboard is the answer to this increasing problem. Developed by professors to create a more engaging classroom experience for large auditorium style rooms, Lightboards are now making their way into online learning and moving beyond the higher education space. In this session, Andrea Maliska will take a look at how these Lightboards work, the cognition behind them, and how they can be used to helped corporations build engaging and effective vILT experiences and reach a larger audience.

Minding the Gap: How to Create a Custom Training Program For Your Audience

In today’s world, learning and development departments have a tough job. Not only are they expected to create engaging, right-on-time and effective content with minimal budgets and short timeframes, their content also has to speak to an increasingly diverse population of learners. The generational span in the industry today is creating a unique problem. One size does not fit all. Content developers and curriculum specialists have to be able to speak to a variety of learning styles, social habits and deeply ingrained ideologies on learning and development. This session will talk through the differences in needs and how to successfully build a program that is not singularly focused on one learning style, but meets the expectations of a diverse audience.
