Yep, we’re doing it again. MadWorld returns to the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego April 13-15, 2014 and you’re invited to join the “Mad”ness! MadWorld 2014 is the premier technical communication and content strategy conference for technical writers, documentation managers and content strategists.
At MadWorld 2014, you’ll be treated to inspiring educational sessions, fun events, and all the networking you can handle.
We’ve put together a stellar cast of speakers just itching to share their knowledge with you, so let’s get to know one of them, shall we?
Scott DeLoach is a MadCap Certified Instructor for Flare, a Flare consultant, and the manager of MadCap’s MAD for Flare Certification program. He is the author of MadCap Software’s authorized Flare training guides, MadCap Flare Developer’s Guide, CSS to the Point, and HTML5 to the Point.
So what was your favorite part of MadWorld 2013?
Wow. That’s tough. The entire conference was excellent. My favorite part was meeting former online class attendees.
What Makes MadWorld different from other industry conferences?
The attention to detail is amazing. The sessions are great, the MadCap team is excited about meeting and interacting with attendees, and everyone is very excited and enthusiastic. It’s like taking a two-day learning vacation with hundreds of great friends.
Tell us a little bit about your MadWorld 2014 sessions.
My topics are lists, CSS3, and table styles. The lists presentation will focus on cool tricks for formatting bulleted and numbered lists. In the CSS3 presentation, I’ll provide an overview of CSS3 and how the new CSS3 features can be used in Flare. My table style presentation will showcase advanced techniques for formatting tables and content in tables.
Excluding your session, which MadWorld sessions do you find the most intriguing?
All of the sessions look great. I’m intrigued by the MadCap team’s presentations– all of the sessions will have some great tips.
Do you plan on doing anything fun (besides MadWorld, of course!) while you’re in San Diego?
You have to see the zoo. Old Town is just an Uber ride away, and the Midway is near the hotel. If you like Top Gun (who doesn’t?!), you can find me at Kansas City Barbeque down the street from the Hard Rock. Just be ready to sing.
MadWorld 2014 is at the Hard Rock Hotel, so we have to ask you a music question. What are your 3 favorite songs in the whole, wide world?
Let’s see….My favorite band is the Cure, so my favorite 100 or so songs are Cure songs. After the Cure, the three songs that get me out of bed in the morning are “Brandy” by Looking Glass, “Sei Dein Eigener Held (radio mix)” by Der Wolf, and “For Those About to Rock” by AC/DC.
