MadWorld 2013 is almost upon us! What is MadWorld, you ask? Only the most fun and informative technical communication conference you’ll ever attend, that’s what.
Join the MadCap team, industry thought leaders and your peers at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego from April 7-9 2013 and stuff your brain with more skills, ideas, and best practices than you can handle. Oh, and did someone say “networking?” ‘Cause there will be plenty of opportunities for that.
Let’s get to know one of our rock star presenters:
Harold Gross has been in the computer industry for a number of undisclosed years, but rumor has it he started on Trash-80s. He currently fills the post of Director, Documentation and User Assistance for Caradigm (a Microsoft | GE healthcare company) where he has deployed MadCap Flare deeply into the content creation and delivery processes for both end-user and developer documentation. A published case study of these efforts can be found here.
His previous experiences range from Principal positions in Microsoft to system administration as a CNE to stand-up training for various clients and software packages. In addition to his computer background, Harold augments his understanding of content and customers with a broad collection of efforts in the entertainment industry both on and off stage and on bookshelves.
Tell us a little bit about your session: My presentation is about authoring our SDK and using Flare to help improve that experience for our customers. It started as a simple idea and then grew… as they always tend to do. The presentation will walk through the evolution of the project and its implementation.
Besides coming to see your spectacular session, why should someone attend MadWorld? A chance to sit and chat with like-minded folks that love the tools and the discipline is hard to find. Especially true these days with companies cutting down the size of teams. This is a great opportunity to learn and share experiences.
Excluding your session, which MadWorld session are you most interested in attending? Using Reports and Analyzer or Global Project Linking—always looking for more and interesting project tips. But I suspect I’m going to be cursing a lack of cloning technology at some point as there are many sessions I want to attend that are at the same time.
In your humble opinion, what’s the coolest thing about MadCap Software? It just bloody works, pretty much no matter what I throw at it.
What makes you most excited about visiting San Diego? Never been and never had a chance to see the MadCap team in their natural environment. I’m bringing peanuts to feed them.
If someone really enjoyed your session and wants to buy you a drink at MadWorld Happy Hour, what cocktail should they order? No question: good single-malt whiskey.
