Track 39:30 - 10:30

A Modified Approach to the ADDIE Instructional Design Model

Put the horse before the cart! Use a modified approach to the ADDIE Instructional Design Model to incorporate face to face training and development of MadCap Flare HTML5 projects. When developing training packages or online help projects it is critical to ensure appropriate planning is completed to increase the usability and success of any MadCap projects. The ADDIE Instructional Design Model covers the end to end process for developing successful training packages (face to face, virtual or eLearning). A – Analysis, D – Design, D – Develop, I – Implement, E – Evaluate. A critical error many rookie instructional designers make is poor planning. They jump straight in at developing a training package without spending the time to plan. This significantly impacts the quality of the end product and increases the risk that the end-users will reject the initiative.

Advanced Workshop 24:00 - 5:30

Apply the ADDIE Model

It is one thing knowing about the ADDIE Model and the Blended Learning Model but have you got the skills to head back to the office and put it into action? Test your skills in this workshop where we will apply these models to create a training program for ‘MadCap Flare Introductory Training’. Ok, we aren’t really redesigning the course for MadCap Flare, however, we will use this as our topic cause it is something we all have in common. There will be no right or wrong in this workshop and a huge benefit will be achieved by listening to all the different ideas the group have on training delivery ideas. You will leave this workshop with a nice tool kit of training methodologies to spice up your training programs and MadCap Flare Online outputs.
