Machine Translation: To Use or Not To Use – Is That The Question?
Machine Translation (MT) has finally arrived for good. Preceded by a short history of MT, this presentation will discuss the current state of machine translation and tackle important questions, such as: When should I consider using MT? What types of text are suitable for MT? Should I worry about confidentiality and data protection? Is MT output as reliable as a human translator’s work? Can machine translation be dangerous? What is post-editing and why should I care about it? How can my LSP guide me through the process? In addition to answering these questions, we will look at the integration of MT into MadCap Lingo and the training of MT engines. Case studies and specific examples of MT output will round off the presentation.
