Module 1: Getting Started

In this first module, Mike Hamilton will provide an overview of MadCap Flare, including a tour of the interface. We’ll take a look at projects in Flare, and cover what you need to know to get started on your first project.

Module 2: Adding Content, Linking Content

Presented by: Scott DeLoach, Jennifer Morse, Mike Hamilton

Our second module will cover adding content to MadCap Flare. We’ll break out into groups and cover different types of content you can import, such as Word, FrameMaker® and HTML files. Topics, Table of Contents (TOCs) and link types will also be covered as we dive into key concepts such as topic-based authoring.

Module 3: Designing Content

Presented by: Paul Stoecklein

Designing the look and feel of your content can be managed in a number of ways in MadCap Flare. We’ll take a look at cascading stylesheets (CSS), Master Pages, Page Layouts, tables, skins and more. Paul Stoecklein, Documentation Director, will walk you through the MadCap Flare Online Help and its most recent design.

Module 4: Single Sourcing Content

MadCap Flare makes it easy to single-source your content. We’ll take a look at the many single sourcing features in Flare, including condition tags, variables and snippets.

Module 5: Sending Topics for Review, Building Targets

Presented by: Jennifer Morse

Reviewing content is a key component to content creation. We’ll take a look at review workflows in MadCap Central and MadCap Contributor, and how they work with MadCap Flare. Finally, we’ll finish the module with building your targets in Flare, particularly the HTML5 and PDF target.
