Advanced Techniques to Optimize Your PDF Output in MadCap Flare

The default settings in your Flare CSS or Page Layouts provide satisfactory PDF output. Often there is a desire for more control, such as the control of the page layout, text or table breaks. To optimize your print-based PDF output, there are numerous adjustments that can be made, some of which can impact one another. In this workshop, Birgit Becker and Jörg Ertelt, certified flare instructors will provide an overview of different functions and dependencies to optimize your PDFs as well as the steps you can take to create the desired output. Functions include: Keeping elements together such as images with captions, controlling page breaks, having one front cover page with different contents (snippets, variables) to avoid multiple cover pages, converting headings automatically, using proxies, numbering of headings, and much more.
