MadWorld 2013 is almost upon us! What is MadWorld, you ask? Only the most fun and informative technical communication conference you’ll ever attend, that’s what.
Join the MadCap team, industry thought leaders and your peers at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego from April 7-9 2013 and stuff your brain with more skills, ideas, and best practices than you can handle. Oh, and did someone say “networking?” ‘Cause there will be plenty of opportunities for that.
Let’s get to know one of our rock star presenters:
Thomas Tregner is a software engineer at Blackbaud, a company which makes great software for non-profit organizations. As part of the SDK Documentation and Training Team in User Education, Thomas creates some of the guides and reference materials for developers who use Blackbaud SDKs and APIs. The SDK guides are managed with Flare and published to a variety of outputs. He also scripts and codes tasks and utilities for document automation.
Thomas continues to study information systems as a graduate student at Nova Southeastern University. He concentrated in programming for his bachelor’s. Thomas previously held technical writer positions and he spent six years as a nuclear field electrical technician in the US Navy.
Tell us a little bit about your session: My presentation is about APIs inside and outside of Flare.
Besides coming to see your spectacular session, why should someone attend MadWorld? Attend to learn more about an application you use for several hours every day and to meet a variety of people in the technical communication profession.
Excluding your session, which MadWorld session are you most interested in attending? As a writer for developer guides, I’m excited to attend Building a Better SDK with Harold Gross. But all of the presentations look pretty good.
In your humble opinion, what’s the coolest thing about MadCap Software? My experience is that MadCap Software is very accessible to its customers. Flare appeals to me because of its visible XML-based project structure.
What makes you most excited about visiting San Diego? I visited San Diego once as a child. It will be interesting to see if I recognize anything.
If someone really enjoyed your sessions and wants to buy you a drink at MadWorld Happy Hour, what cocktail should they order? Although I enjoy stronger drinks, I’ll be drinking club soda to stay fresh for my presentation.
Is there anything else you’d like to add? I look forward to seeing everyone there! Oh, and read my blog.
