Madcap Blaze includes all the features you expect out of a high-end publishing system, including:
- MadCap Blaze includes a unique patent-pending
visual XML editor, fully driven by schemas and cascading style sheets (CSS). However, you don't
need to know XML to use Blaze.
- Bring in documents from products such as Microsoft®
Word® and FrameMaker®. Madcap Blaze ensures that content and settings such as cross-references,
variables, and autonumbering formats are kept intact. You can import existing content and start working
right away.
- Quickly produce output for
a single document in a variety of formats, such as: straight to the printer, Microsoft's new XPS
format, Adobe PDF, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Word.
- Author content in any left-to-right language,
such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, and more.
- Work smarter by using CSS when formatting content
in Blaze. Creating, incorporating, and maintaining CSS files in Blaze is very easy and saves you hours
of effort and time.
- Produce multiple versions of your content by
using condition tags. For example, you can produce a beginner and advanced version of a manual without
having to create two separate documents. Simply use condition tags in your documents to indicate which
content should be used in which output.
- Create linked page layouts, which let you reuse content,
graphics, headers, footers, multiple columns and page numbering throughout your documents.
- Reuse content by creating pre-set
terms (variables) and pre-set chunks of formatted content (snippets) and inserting them into your
project.
- Incorporate customized automatic numbering in Blaze.
Create numbered volumes, sections, paragraphs, and pages, which automatically update when you add or remove
content.
- Make full use of cross-references, which are
"automated" links that let you connect one area of a document to another area.
- Quickly create and use as many different
document outlines for as many different outputs or purposes as you need.
- Keep your document indexes
current and consistent by using markers and the Index Explorer. Use the Index Entry Mode to create index
markers quickly and see the big index picture.
- Add professional glossaries to your documents. You can
even automatically generate footnotes for your documents based on glossary terms and definitions.
