How It Works
- Add content — Import legacy content from Word™, FrameMaker® or DITA, leverage existing HTML or XHTML pages, or import content from older authoring tools. Or you can create all new content using the world class editor built into Blaze, or use a combination of content import and content creation as needed.
- Define the look of the content — Edit style sheets, create page layouts, add snippets, variables, conditional text, and more.
- Define the content for each target — Create Outlines with the topics you want in the final output. Create as many as you need for the project, reusing topics in multiple outlines if needed.
- Create the target — Output to PDF, XPS, XHTML, DITA, Word™, and FrameMaker®. Specify the Outline for each target and, optionally, the location of the target after it's built. You can manually build your targets or run Blaze from the command line to create your targets and automatically put them on the network.

Batch Generate
Build multiple output targets and save your “batch” settings for future projects using Batch Generate.
Project Development Tools
File Tagging
You can now assign "tags" to topics and any other files in Blaze, even folders. Use file tags for a variety of purposes, such as assigning authors (e.g. Bob) or milestones (e.g. in prog ress) to topics. Create your own set of tags that fit your organizations work flow.
Reporting Engine
Used in conjunction with File Tagging, the reporting engine gives users the ability to pull reports based on tags created for the project, making project development that much easier to track, manage and schedule.
Link Viewer
Maintain the integrity of projects with Link Viewer to ensure edits to a particular topic do not have a negative impact on your project deliverables. The Link Viewer data pod shows 1) all files linking to a topic, 2) all files linking from a topic, and 3) all current targets using this topic.
New PDF Processor
The new PDF processor has improved Asian character support, reduce PDF file sizes upon export, and an enhanced process for creating and saving project templates.
