Follow the instructions below to download and install MadCap Flare.
Use your license key to activate Flare. Until activated, Flare runs in trial mode.
Flare runs in trial mode. The trial is limited to a 30-day evaluation period and cannot
be used for production work.
Note: While in trial mode, Flare will mark its outputs with random characters.
Upon purchase and activation of Flare, the limitations are removed and the projects created during the evaluation period may be published for production use.
This version of Flare can be installed in conjunction with any previous Flare installations. There are no conflicts with such an installation. This allows authors, for example, to continue working on existing projects created in earlier versions and start newer version projects on the same system.

The .NET Framework from Microsoft must be installed prior to installing MadCap Flare.
This step is not required if you are running Windows Vista or later.
Windows 2000 users ONLYBecause later versions of the .NET Framework are not compatible with Windows 2000, you must download and install Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework.

This help viewer is not necessary for generating or using Microsoft HTML Help files, WebHelp files, or Printed Documentation. However, you do need it to distribute our DotNet Help format which is designed for use with Windows applications and modern security concerns in mind.
Developers may also download the Help Viewer SDK to connect DotNet Help to your application.
